Meet the Artist
Terry Peterson is a Professor of Studio Art at Sacramento City College where he teaches sculpture and drawing courses. Born and raised in Fort Bragg on the Northern California Coast, the blue-collar themes and materials that make up Terry’s large-scale, multimedia, kinetic sculptures largely derive from this background. Terry earned his BA in Art from the College of Creative Studies at University of California, Santa Barbara, and went on to receive an MFA in Studio Art from UC Davis. Terry currently resides with his wife Kimberly in Sacramento where he is dedicated to keeping a lively and disciplined studio practice and is engaged in the local art community. He has an active exhibition record, having shown in various California cities, most recently at the Sacramento State University Library Gallery for the two person exhibition The New West: Landscape in the Digital Age.
